Adventures in Languages specializes in teaching Spanish to toddlers and preschoolers. These programs evolved from the belief that children need to become aware of their global community and the enriching diversity it offers. At the same time, their young age enables them to effectively develop fundamental language-learning skills in a fun and highly active environment.

Mommy and Daddy & Me

A foreign language program for a child, two to four years of age, and his/her parent

Preschoolers

A foreign language program geared to four to six-year-olds

Preschool Enrichment

A one-and-a-half-hour program, for day care centers, preschools, and day care providers, that introduces children to the concept of learning a new language.  Youngsters become acquainted with Spanish through interactive cultural activities, which include games, animated stories, and worldwide crafts.  As they learn songs in Spanish, they are delighted to suddenly recognize a familiar tune.  The program begins to build their vocabulary, and shows them that learning a language is actually fun!

Home-schooled Children

Elementary & middle school students 7 to 12 years old

High school students 13 years old and up

High school preparatory classes in Spanish and French for eighth graders seeking to enhance their foreign language skills and confidence

One-on-one tutoring for high school students and adults

Beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes that focus on practical conversational skills of listening and speaking, as well as survival phrases for everyday functionality

English as a Second Language taught in individual or group classes, at all age levels

Adventures in Languages offers group and individual foreign language classes in our classroom space, as well as group classes on-site at nonprofits and businesses.  We can also provide English as a Second Language classes for employees at the worksite.  Our curriculum can be modified to include progression-specific vocabulary, teaching just what a person needs to know how to do their job.  Our conversational language classes are specially designed to have people using the language as quickly and as effectively as possible.  Students do active exercises and drills until they fully learn the necessary words and phrases.

When you need to introduce a new product or service, instruct people, or reach a larger audience with your message, you'll probably need to say it in more than one language.  Adventures in Languages' translators do high-quality work quickly.  We are a small group of dedicated professionals with a love for words and a passion for accuracy.  While most of our translations are between Spanish and English, we also handle French, Portuguese, and Italian.  We can translate a variety of informational pieces, such as forms, signs, manuals, and advertising materials.

Our classes follow a functional-communications approach, with an emphasis on discussion of everyday activities. This teaching method facilitates practical usage and encourages the habit of thinking in your new language from the beginning. The meaning of words is conveyed through pictures, drawings, and real objects, as well as hands-on activities that involve the five senses in the learning process.
